Four in One: Roberto de Nobili Student Center

Roberto de Nobili Center started on May 19th, 1999. With a small wooden house that served as the church, the center housed 3 boys from a remote village giving them an opportunity to continue their studies at a government high school. As more youths needed educational opportunities, the number of students admitted to our center increased. At the beginning of 2021, we had 30 students (22 girls and 8 boys) from grade 10 to 12. The number of girls is higher than boys because girls get priority. Cambodian society is biased towards boys who enjoy greater privileges than girls, much

Cambodia – My Home Away from Home

When I was leaving the Ecology Program nursery in Kambol, Phnom Penh, late afternoon of 30 July, I felt gloomy. It dawned on me at that moment, that I had to say goodbye to the life I embraced for the past three years: my life with the Ecology Program team — whom I considered my family; the nursery that we built together — which I called my home; and the three local community partners — with whom we shared the same dream of caring for our common home. To Live as a Pastor in the Time of Pandemic

Whenever I visit my office in the church, I see a group picture hanging on the wall near the chapel. This picture was taken two years ago in September 2019. After celebrating the Korean Thanksgiving Mass, the Korean community held a sports fest with all the family members in the Church. Some of our parishioners told me that it was the golden age of the Korean Catholic community in Phnom Penh. After the erection of the Korean Church building in 2018, the Korean community began to grow in number and influence in the local church. Unfortunately, I can recognize only
