January 2022 is a month full of new beginnings

Leaving Cambodia and Beginning Theology Studies
Sch. Jangho Hong, S.J. and Yoonho Do, S.J. have been approved to begin their theological studies. Therefore, Yoon-ho returned to South Korea on 14th January and Jang-ho on 30th January. Jangho did his regency for 3 years and mainly served in Banteay Prieb. Yoonho did his regency for 2 years and served in several places—Sisophon Parish Church, Xavier Jesuit School, Fe y Alegria Movement, and also manages the mission’s communication (content creator for newsletter and website). We express our gratitude to them for all that they did for Jesuit Mission in Cambodia during their regency here.

Arrival in Cambodia Beginning Khmer Language Studies

On 18th January 2022, we welcome Sch. Paul Do Thanh Nguyen, S.J. (Nguyen) and Fr. Joseph Nguyen Minh Do, S.J. (Do) They are both members of the Jesuit Vietnam Province and spent their regency in Cambodia; Nguyen from 2014-2016, whereas Do from 2014-2017. Do was recently ordained a priest on 3rd December 2021.

Before their ministry, both of them will spend a year for learning more Khmer language in Prieb So Community.

Beginning of Offline Learning
On 3rd January 2022, students of Xavier Jesuit School Sisophon started their new school year. They resume offline learning after several months of online learning.

Beginning of New Duties
On 15th January 2022, Fr. Manoj Ekka, S.J. was installed as parish priest of Divine Mercy Parish (Khnach Romeas), replacing Fr. Pierre Tumlorp Sophal. Congratulations Fr. Manoj, may you be a compassionate shepherd to your flock.

Visit of Korean Scholastics

Sch. John Sukmin SJ and Sch, Bosco Kwangjoon SJ visited Cambodia mission for exposure program. Accompanied by Sch. Jangho SJ, they went around the mission from 3rd-30th January 2022 visiting several places.
